fountain of youth...

wanna know the secret to staying young? don't get married... for a long time. i know, you're thinking it can't possibly be that easy. but observe...

my husband and i are not quite 30 yet. we married at age 20. we recently celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary.

october 16th: our anniversary, a thursday
itinerary: nothing. hello, we do not go out on weeknights.
what really happened: nothing. hello, we do not go out on weeknights.

october 17th: the day after our anniversary, a friday
itinerary: to check out the nearby star cinema grill, a place where you can catch the newest flicks, get a nice steak dinner (or whatever you're finding palatable), and enjoy said movie without screaming children (or the parents that think it's okay to bring 5 year olds to "r" rated movies) or the pubescents that laugh when a character in the movie says how many balls do you have? okay, so i still laugh...
what really happened: i got my nails done. it took longer than i expected so we couldn't make the 7:40pm show. i suggested (half-heartedly) the 10:15pm show. hubby says negatory... suggests actual dinner, and then movie. i agreed. we went to dinner at TGIFridays. as we're finishing our dinner around 9pm, we're both looking at each other, trying to decide how to tell the other that we really don't feel like a movie since it's so late.

a quote...

a girl power quote from an e-mail my step-brother sent...

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says... "Oh shit... she's awake!!"

finally, after 9 years...

you think i'm gonna tell you i'm pregnant, but you're wrong. i just can't help starting sentences that make yall wonder. :)

but seriously... we went back to tyler, trailer in tow, to pick up my piano!

isn't it wonderful? it took 5 guys to get it out of my brother's house and into the trailer. when we pulled into our subdivision with our u-haul after the 4 hour drive home, wouldn't you know it, NONE of our neighbors were home (including my brother-in-law 2 blocks down)?! justin and i had to move the piano out of the trailer and into the house... just the two of us. let me just clarify that there are so many things i would like to do, just the two of us... moving a piano has never made it onto that list. that is the heaviest thing i've ever had to lift in my life. in fact, justin says i don't have to do any "guy work" ever again... i've assumed that includes mowing the lawn, yard work, etc. ;) so the piano made it as far as the front door...

and that's where it shall stay! no seriously, that's where i was planning on putting it anyway. the foyer just seemed so big and empty. the piano fills it nicely. plus there's a game room/office right across off of the foyer so it just kind of fit, ya know? here's the view from said game room/office...

we actually picked it up a couple of weeks ago, but i didn't want to post pics until i recovered the seat. yep, that's MY handy work! i'm planning on making some type of art piece (think sheet music, paper mache, framed) to hang above the piano, and then hanging a gigantic mirror on that wall to the left. i'm feeling so accomplished! i also recovered all 6 six dining room chairs this past weekend too! i'm not posting pics of those... even though they look spectacular, i forgot to take a "before" photo! i will surely dream of home decor tonight...

note: my dog does not usually look that creepy.
